Recent Promotions:
Brett James was promoted to Junior Yellow Belt on January 13, 2009. Congratulations, Brett!!
John Nichols was promoted to Senior Green Belt and Maci James was promoted to Junior White Belt with One Black Stripe. Congratulations to both!
Zeck Sanders was promoted to the rank of Junior Yellow Belt on August 7, 2008. Zeck had improved considerably over the last several weeks of practices which prompted his promotion. Zeck's improvement was most recognizable in tachi-waza, he has been able to throw senior students in throwing practice. Congratualtions Zeck!!
David Wolford was promoted to the rank of Junior Yellow Belt on May 27, 2008. His dedication, consistent practice and attitude contributed to his promotion. David is sure to improve as he continues his studies. Congratulations David!!!!
News About Our Students:
Clay Maple, John Nicols, Grant Hayes, Bret James and Maci James attended a novice tournament hosted by ARK Judo in Springdale on November 1. Clay also attended a coaching and referee clinic that morning in Springdale. John, Bret and Maci competed while Clay refereed. Grant enjoyed watching this tournament. Although the students did not win, they played well and had fun.
Zeck Sanders, John Nicols and Clay Maple competed in a Judo tournament in Fenton, MO on September 20, 2008. All three students brought home trophies based on points won during their matches. This was the first tournament for Zeck and we are proud of his performance at this tounament.
Clay Maple took and passed the test for Regional Referee in Fenton, MO. on September 20, 2008. Clay did well on both the written and practical tests and will receive his Regional Referee license from the USJA. Congratulation, Clay!!
Brian Bowser is coaching baseball in Melbourne. While we wish him and his team good luck, we miss his participation in judo class. Hurry back Brian!
John Nichols has had to miss several practices lately due to family illness. We wish John's family well and look forward to seeing him back on a regular basis.
